CIH ACADEMIC TEACHER TRAINING MUNICH 2010
to be held in Munich, Germany, from November 01 to 26, 2010

The workshop is designed to bring together academic staff with an interest in improving their skills as an educator, and medical educators planning innovations in the field of medical education from various countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe. 

Learning objectives: The participants will 
-	improve their communication behaviours in teaching formats such as lectures and seminars
-	describe and apply rules of good feedback, give feedback to another professional person, receive feedback from another professional person
-	work as a tutor in a problem-based learning (PBL) tutorial, develop material for PBL, incorporate PBL into their teaching strategies
-	understand the teaching situation of the other participants and describe desired changes of their own local teaching situation
-	develop projects in medical education
-	apply, teach, and find applications for the four-step method of teaching a skill
-	explain concepts of validity and reliability, threats to validity, measurements of validity and reliability of assessments and assessment items
-	develop long essay questions, short answers questions, multiple choice questions, extended matching items, key feature items
-	prepare items for structured oral examination, direct observation of procedural skills and OSCE
